About the Morrone 9/11 Center
The Morrone 9/11 Center is a charitable nonprofit, serving as an official memorial to Fred V. Morrone and his 36 officers who perished on 9/11 in the World Trade Center Towers.
The Morrone 9/11 Center is a U.S. IRS‑recognized 501(c)(3) public charity and a validated TechSoup member. We operate as an educational and memorial organization, established as a living memorial to Port Authority Police officers who perished on September 11, 2001.
We work to fund his vision to develop educational best practices, maintain the highest ethical standards, and honor the law enforcement and public safety officers who distinguish themselves in advancing counterterrorism and security in mass people environment areas.
The organization operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, fostering public understanding of terrorism, serious transnational crime, and transportation-related security risks and their impacts on society. Through public forums, educational programs, research, and open dialogue, the organization promotes awareness of best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and historical lessons learned, with the goal of enhancing public safety and resilience. These activities benefit the general public and support informed collaboration among communities, academic institutions, and public safety professionals.
